About "Me"

The past is the past and none of that feels very relevant anymore - but it's why I am who I am today.  In my longing to belong I've worn many hats, changed my persona and embodied numerous "characters" over the years.  Today, all of those characters are just a reminder of the journey of a little girl who just wanted to be seen, heard and loved.

 

The name SHANNON actually translates to "Wise Helper," and for as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to help.  My greatest joy is to be of service and it always has been, no matter how unconsciously I was living or how out of place I felt.  In the past, I sabotaged myself with addiction, ruined relationships with insecurity and anxious attachment, and struggled financially by drowning myself in lack.  I consider myself to be an empathic soul and in the past, I unknowingly absorbed others energies and it tore me to pieces on a regular basis.  My heart was always with the underdogs and the misfits, as that's where I seemed to find belonging.  I never felt like I belonged here and I just wanted to help those who felt like me.

 

Awakening to the truth of who I am has changed everything.  Today, instead of throwing me off balance, I consider my empathy a superpower and it's what gives me the ability to help so effectively.  I have learned how to protect and separate my energy from that of others and to guide them to an understanding of their own unconscious beliefs that are causing them turmoil.  I have finally found my purpose in loving myself and helping others to do the same.

 

I don't claim to be some guru.  The truth is that I am on an eternal path of discovery - just as you are.  My human experience is a continual process of uncovering my authentic, higher self -- a shedding of the layers of the false-self I've created from the baggage and wounds I've accumulated since I entered this body.  My story is ongoing -- it's eternal, as is yours.  So what I have to offer you is an ear, my unique perspective, and a joyful, awakened hand to hold as we walk one another home.  If that feels in alignment with who you feel you are becoming, then I would love for our paths to cross.
